Renee L. O'Hara

Renee L. O'Hara serves as the assisted reproductive laboratory technician for the Jones Institute at West Penn Allegheny Health System. Her responsibilities include performing routine semen analyses and preparing semen samples for intrauterine inseminations (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures. She runs the hormone assays necessary to monitor the progress of the ovulation induction procedures and maintains the sophisticated instruments and reagents for both the andrology and immunoassay laboratories. In addition to her many responsibilities, she assists and supports the IVF laboratory's manager.
Prior to joining the Jones Institute at West Penn Allegheny Health System, Ms. O'Hara served as an andrology specialist for Reproductive Health Specialists and the University of Pittsburgh Physicians. She has also served as a medical technologist in the areas of Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Immunology for Magee Women's Hospital.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Ms. O'Hara has completed several continuing education courses at the Community College of Allegheny County.
